Vessel Surveys

ER-Marine offers specialised, independent vessel survey services for LNG and LPG carriers, as well as dynamically positioned (DP) vessels. With decades of experience as a Chief Engineer and expertise in newbuild construction, we provide unparalleled technical insight to support your fleet’s operations.

Beyond the Checklist Approach

Since 2008, we’ve been at the forefront of alternative fuel technologies, working with LPG, LNG, hybrid, methanol, and ammonia concepts. Our early expertise from Selective Catalytic Reactors (SCRs) to reduce NOx emissions have proven to be very valuable.

While ER-Marine utilises checklists and standard templates to ensure thoroughness, we go beyond box-ticking. Our strength lies in combining these tools with actionable recommendations and evaluations informed by hands-on experience as an operational Chief Engineer and Technical Superintendent.

This enables us to perform vessel surveys that are impactful, and tailored to your specific requirements.

With our expertise in advanced fuel technologies, dual-fuel engine developments, and dynamic positioning systems, ER-Marine ensures our surveys are providing the value you expect from us.

Pre-Purchase Inspections

ER-Marine conducts pre-purchase inspections for vessels involved in sale or purchase transactions, particularly in cases where time is a critical factor.

These inspections are aimed at quickly assessing the vessel’s condition and its machinery. This type of survey is typically performed within tight time constraints and focuses on visual assessments during a concise walkthrough.

Following best practices in marine surveying, the inspection provides clients with a detailed report, supported by extensive photographs and relevant documentation. This enables clients to form an independent view of the vessel’s condition in addition to the findings and recommendations of the surveyor.

Condition Surveys

ER-Marine also offers condition surveys to help ship managers evaluate whether vessels meet operational and safety standards.

These comprehensive surveys assess the physical state of the vessel, including its structure, machinery, and onboard management practices.

When deficiencies are identified, ER-Marine provides detailed recommendations, listing the items that require attention or corrective actions. This ensures vessel managers and owners have clear, actionable insights to bring the vessel up to acceptable standards.

Trust ER-Marine to perform in-depth surveys of hulls, machinery and critical systems to assess condition and identification of improvement opportunities.
